Please change the web site so that the ODGW News column on the right sided doesn't cause the center column--which has all the info for which one has come to the page--to keep expanding and contracting. It is very annoying, especially when you are trying to read and pick a file to download.Thank you.

There was one story which cause the news window to expand. This story has since been modified (prior to your post). So far I've not seen the news window expand since the update (IE 7 & Firefox 3.0.6). What browser are you using?

I've seen this mainly with IE8. Switching on the Compatibility View eliminates the problem.
