A few questions.

Does it take a CD to wage unrestricted submarine warfare in the CTO?

The USN cannot mix ships from different bases in the same mission. An amphibious assault is a combination of two missions, a troop convoy and a supply convoy. Must those come from the same base? Does this cost two CDs for convoys and escorts? (Do the escorts, if including at least one carrier, one Batdiv, or two Crudivs, count as ground support for the +1?)

Blue wishes to take an amphibious GCU from Hainan and use it to invade Saipan. Is it legal to escort that mission with ships from SEQUOIA? Is the mission counted as starting at Hainan or from SEQUOIA?

On Turn I, Blue transfers Desdiv 7 from Pearl Harbor to SEQUOIA. On Turn II, the DD Blue, a member of that division, appears at Pearl Harbor. How is this handled? Can USS Blue attach itself to another Desdiv to transfer? Does it get a free transfer to SEQUOIA?

Some US ground and air units start in the Continental US. Are they unavailable until listed as reinforcements?

Under "First Turn", it says that ships located in Japan may be used as if coming from Mako. Would there normally be any differences between ships in Japan and ships at Mako?

The USS Detroit is not listed in a Crudiv, rather apparently being the flagship for Battle Force destroyers. Does it count as its own Crudiv?

Ships transferring from Pearl may undertake one ETO mission along the way. Does this require two CDs?

Can Blue take some ships from Operation Exodus on Turn 1 and use them to escort an amphibious assault on an ETO target?

Yes, most definitely. The rules do state this.

Yes, and the mission counts as going from Hainan in the CTO.

Blue gets a free transfer to its assigned DesDiv at SEQUOIA.

Some US ground and air units start in the Continental US. Are they unavailable until listed as reinforcements?

Correct.

Under "First Turn", it says that ships located in Japan may be used as if coming from Mako. Would there normally be any differences between ships in Japan and ships at Mako?

No.

The USS Detroit is not listed in a Crudiv, rather apparently being the flagship for Battle Force destroyers. Does it count as its own Crudiv?

Detroit is part of DesRon 1, part of DesDiv2, good question. It shows in the fleet battle log that it is the flagship.

Ships transferring from Pearl may undertake one ETO mission along the way. Does this require two CDs?

Yes.

Can Blue take some ships from Operation Exodus on Turn 1 and use them to escort an amphibious assault on an ETO target?

Yes, they are available for that.

Thanks for the questions.
