Ok Folks ... we're looking for House Rules on anything that you've written for Mein Panzer (or BattleLines) that is different or not included in the rules. This includes rules for specific vehicles.I have created a new menu item from your Member Menu called "House Rules". This will bring up an intro page and another menu in the right column with a list of House Rule categories.Currently the ADD HOUSE RULE link doesn't not function and I'm trying to debug it. Until then, post your house rule under THIS thread and I will cut-n-paste it to the appropriate House Rules category.Cool ??

Here is a simple special ammo availability house rule we have begun using in our group for Eastern Front WW2 battles (currently we are using it only for APCR) At the start of a battle we consult the table below to determine the APCR modifier.APCR ModifierSoviet 1941-1942 = 0 1943-1944 = 3 1945 = UnlimitedGerman 1941-1943 = 2 1944 = 1 1945 =0.2 (round down_(This table is a work in progress and needs more research)The modifier above is multiplied by each vehicle/gun that is capable of firing APCR and this is the total number of APCR rounds available. In a cup or suitable container place counters/beads equivalent to the total number of APCR rounds available to your forces. When you declare a shot, decide if the round will be an APCR round, if it is remove a bead/counter from the cup. When there are, no beads/counters left all the APCR rounds are expended.(Optional) We are currently trying this addition to the rules above. When ever an APCR capable vehicle/gun is destroyed remove from the container beads/counters equal to the APCR Modifier.

Ooops, meant to make a post about this ... I "think" the House Rules section is working. Try posting it there. If it doesn't work, let me know.

Fog of War Rule (Ver 1)This is a house rule for concealment we use as we never have a referee for our games, it is not as good as having a real referee but it does provide some fog of war effects.Fog of War (optional house rule)This rule is designed to be used in battles with prepared defences. Fog of War markers are used to mark the approximate location of a platoon as well as certain individual bases. The Fog of War counters are numbered and use the Transport Tracker sheet to indicate what units they represent. Double the number of Fog of War counters than are needed to represent the actual units. Fog of War counters that indicate empty boxes on the transport Tracker are dummies and once spotted are removed from the game. The defending player can place a Fog of War counter in a location where a stand could be hidden. This counter marks the location of a single stand from the hiding platoon. All spotting attempts by the enemy must be made against this marker. If the enemy successfully spots the counter or the platoon activates then the rest of the platoon is placed on the tabletop. For spotting purposes a Fog of War counter has a +2 spotting modifier. If the counter is spotted successfully the platoon’s units are placed on the tabletop as described below. The stand may still retain their ‘Hidden’ status, using the original die roll add the modifiers for the units DM and work out if it retains its status. When placing the stands on the tabletop a single stand has to replace the Fog of War counter, the rest of the stands must be placed:1. Within platoon command distance AND 2. In cover of equal or greater value AND 3. Be no closer to the enemy’s table edge than the original Fog of War counter. This means that if the Fog of War counter was placed behind a wall for a -4 modifier additional stands could not then be placed in an adjacent patch of rough ground with a -2 modifier. Of course the counter could have initially been placed in the rough ground and then additional stands could have been placed behind the wall.Individual stands from Reconnaissance and support weapons should have their own Fog of War counters. An illustration below shows a mixed force of Russians defending a factory complex using the Fog of War rules

Looks like a great addition to the rules. Maybe Jon should consider this for the Core Rules as an Optional Rule...

Thanks for your comments Bob - these rules may need a bit more playtesting before they are robust enough to be considered finished. We have used them in a couple of battles and each time we have been tweaking them. The biggest effect we have found is that Reconnaissance has become more important - is that Fog of War counter a dummy or an ATG? You either investigate or conduct recon by death - question is, are you feeling lucky punk? Fog of War should play an important part in our next Bagration scenario as a mixed force of Soviet infantry supported by Shermans and Valentines try to clear a heavily defended wooded area just north of Bobruisk. Haven’t decided on the turn limit on this scenario yet but it is unlikely the Soviets will be able to conduct enough spotting to check out all the Fog of War counters – should lead to some surprises!
