Hello,

I have GQ 3.3 and would like to game battles of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-05. Do I need Fleet Action Imminent ? Does this Rule Set include Ship Logs for this period or are these available as download or separate purchase ?

Thanks Eric

Unfortunately, neither GQ3.3 nor FAI can handle that time period.  GQ3.3 is optimized for WW2 (and slightly before then) while FAI is for WWI.  The earlier predreadnought era (Russo-Japanese War, Spanish-American War) would require an entirely new set of CRTs, ship logs and rules specific to the period (in essence, an entirely new game).

If you can find a copy of GQ 2, it has many ships of the predreadnought era.

Actually, GQ2 has the same problem as FAI with regards to the predreadnought period.  It too is geared towards the WWI period and will not translate back to the earlier period without a complete reworking of the CRTs, logs and new rules.

As to doing a set of rules for the predreadnought era:  Currently there are no plans for such a rule set.
