The Chapter on Equipment Table Help P. 9.8 has a list of Templates.  The Area effect Template isn't listed.  Where is this template explained?

I looked through the templates and the rules and there is no Area Affect template. I think you may have been thinking of the older spotting template that had the rings on it which was revamped and it is explained in the rules.
