In General Quarters Version 3.3, revised and fully updated with amendments I noticed tertiary battery size and tertiary battery boxes in red on several RN ships. Examples would be 4.7" on HMS Rodney, 4" on HMS Barham, Malaya, Warspite, and  Ramilles. I also noticed this on several RN destroyers as secondary batteries (4" on HMS Kipling, 3" on HMS Hero, etc.). The German Navy also has this on tertiary batteries on battleships and pocket battleships. My question is what is the significance of this, what rules impact is involved (can't find any but it might be me)?

Thanks,

Ed

These are AA batteries (most often added to the ship in addition to the existing surface batteries). The significance of the the red is that these are not linked into the ship's surface fire control system and would be fired under local control when used against surface targets.
