Just to say it looks great, it is very clear and everything seem to fit perfect, looking at the tables looks like everything you can image to play is included in the rules.

For my taste Two things can be improved:

Photos and diagragrams in the rulebook should be in full color, like in Fleet action Inminent

The ship counters should be svg (vector images) instead of jpg.

Alejandro,

Thanks for the input.  Always good to get feedback on products so we can better improve our systems.

Your comment about full color is a honest one and one that we'd "like" to provide, however like all companies we had to balance cost versus "likes".  We strive to provide our rules at the lowest cost to the gamer as possible.  We're gamers also and like trying new and or different rules.  If retail price is too much then we push away folks that may just want to try the game.  There are always pros and cons.  We'll try and improve in the future.

Your comment about the ship counters is also valid.  This is one we can try and get right in the future.  I'll work with the author's and see what we can do.

Thanks again for your comments and support of ODGW

Sincerely,

Kenny Noe

Maybe I didn't explain myself very well,

The colorfull photos and diagarmas should be only on the digital version of the rulebook (not the printed version), which should not rise the price but increase the quality and size of the file .

I understand that the printed version is Black and white,

As I read more the rulebook, I really think is better and better, today I discovered that even feluccas and other minor ships are there. Good work

Alejandro,

Our electronic version is a duplicate of our printed version.  ODGW has a policy that once you (the gamer) purchases a book and registers it then you own it including all updates.  All you need is to print out the updated pages and insert them into the book.  If our printed version has color then the digital version will also have color and vice versa.

Thanks for the comments.

Sincerely,

Kenny

another minor thing, I miss the years in service in the ship logs,........ there is another file in the download section which list the names and years, even modifications to a ship in the back, but not with within the main Post Captain file.

Due to the lack of room in the main Post Captain rules, the additional information presented on the Bonus Cards could not be included.  If we did include this information, that would have increased the number pages (and, since these are full color pages, increased the price).

The Bonus Cards you mentioned are a preview of a possible supplement that is under consideration.  This supplement would have the same detail as the Bonus Cards for all the ships from 1st rates down to Unrated brigs of the four nations presented in the game.  Obviously, this is a major undertaking (for example, the French alone had 100+ Temeraire class 74s, many with different configurations of armament).  At this time, this project is only a possibility; whether we go forward with it or not depends on the response to the game and whether there is a viable market (yes, this is something that we'd have to charge for given the amount of work involved (400+ ship cards at minimum).  The tentative target price would be in the $10-$15 range).

$10 to $15 is hardly a fortune and not a deal breaker for me.

$10-15 for that many ship cards is really quite the bargain.

After working on the playlets, I have to say the final product exceeds my expectations...just beautiful! I'm very satisfied, particularly that you actual SAIL the ships in combat. Great job!

I've put my GQIII Arctic Campaign aside to work on a Barbary Wars supplement; this is the perfect system for it!
