I'm using the WWII blank ship log to improvise SDS for my Argentine Navy while I wait for the South American Navy Supplement. I would like to get it right and I realized when it came to rating a ship's belt and turret armor that I think know what's right. But, I don't actually know what's right.

Here is what I think is right and if I'm wrong, please by all means let me know so I can get it right.

Armor less than 2" = CS

Armor 2 to 3" = CL

Armor 4 to 5" = CA

Armor 6 to 7" = BD

Armor 8 to 9" = BC

Armor 10 to 11" = BB

Armor 12" = BA

I've no clue what BA+ plus is as the Iowas and the Yamatos are both rated BA+ even though they vary so much in thickness.

Your best option is to refer to the chart on page 1-11 and the discussion under section 1.6 Armor.  This gives the rationale for the armor classes used in GQ3.3.
