Very nice!  Yeah, summer tends to cut into the hobby time (how dare it!).  .

The really sad thing is, if I go out to the garage right now (2:15 AM CST), it's fairly reasonable.  During the day, the place is basically uninhabitable.  I've joked for years that during the summertime, the only thing we can play out there is either Western Desert or Vietnam games.  One year, it got so hot that I lost about $100 worth of resin roads when the reaction restarted and most of them melted.  They were under the table and in a container, so not out in direct sunlight or anything.

Due to the heat, I'm way behind on photographing other ships for the blog.  I also haven't gotten the table cleaned off for gaming in the fall.

Several new entries over at my blog. I've posted pictures of the latest warship to be built, some forts/fortresses, and a report of how I spent Hurricane Harvey. Spoiler alert: I live in the Houston area, but didn't get flooded. Please check out the new material at:

Nice work on Britannia.  And glad Harvey left you alone (mostly).  Lord knows things are grim down there.

Very true about the grimness.  Several houses across the street from us got water in them but we did not.  That side of the street is visibly lower than we are, so even the extra $$$ the city has spent on drainage couldn't help them.  Of course, no city plans for 3 inches of rain an hour for 7-8 hours.  Like I said in my post, we were fortunate beyond belief.  One of my gaming buddies got 15 inches of water in his house.

Glad to hear all is well with you Brian, my relatives all live in Rockport, they are just now getting water and some parts of the city getting electricity

RM,

Sorry for the late response, but I've been a bit tardy in dropping by here of late.  Hope your relatives are doing OK, and staying away from the swarms of mosquitoes down there!  I saw one video of an electrical worker who had to wear rain gear and a beekeeper type hat to keep them off of him.  I grew up allergic to mosquitoes and fire ants (in east TX, so yeah, that was fun) and in the conditions of the video I would be down sick as a dog.

On a cheerier note, are you going to be at Millenniumcon this year?  I'm running a PC scenario on Saturday, and a training session on Friday morning.

I will be at the Millenium Con.  Running a SAGA Battle of Maldon Saturday afternoon.  I saw your games posted and will be sure to stop by to say Hey!  if not try to get in on a game :-)

See Ya there!

Adam

First of all, I hope everyone had an excellent Christmas holiday season.

At last, I have completed the "What Is My Time Worth" series over at my blog.  Post #6 covers the installation of running rigging.  Post #7 covers the final wrap up of time expended, cost of buying a pre-painted version of the same ship, and of course, what my time is worth.  HINT:  More than I thought, but not a lot more.

Please check things out at: https://mymodelsaili...ps.blogspot.com
