Anyone know of a good, reliable, source for Heroics and Ros miniatures other than the Last Square?

I have heard great things about Spirit games in the UK. I have never had any experience, but every board I am on asks your question. Most people respond with Spirit Games. Here is there web address.http://www.spiritgames.co.uk/Mike

I forgot about Spirit Games ... I've bought from them several times in the past. REAL nice folks. Since my favorite dealer didn't show up at Fall-In I have some extra money burning a hole in my pocket ... Spirits Games, here I come ...

Re-energizing another thread from days gone by...Most of my H&R purchases in the last few years have been from SMS (Scale Micro Systems?) in Southern California.http://www.ss-sms.com/This is an older couple who usually have a vendor's set-up at the California gaming cons. They make their own line of micro-scale decals. They carry all sorts of H&R and Scotia aircraft, but a rather limited stock of micro armor. They are quite friendly and easy to work with, and will order any item from the H&R catalog that you wish, but they make no guarantees about delivery time (like anyone could with H&R!).I would be interested in any US-based source that actually carries substantial H&R micro armor inventory.-Mark 1

Once again into the breach...For those who have not heard, after years of neglect in December of 2009 NAVWAR sold-off the H&R line, and it is once again doing business under just the H&R name.I have no information on how that affects the situation with US-based retailers. But if you are interested, here is the website for the New (everything old is new again) Heroics & Ros: http://www.heroicsan...k/heroics/-Mark 1

Apparently H&R is doing a bang-up job on customer service. I have always liked their 6mm WWII miniatures. Lots of poses.Cheers,Gregory

You've heard from folks who have bought from the new H&R? Any stories to share?

I have considered H&R to be one of the better "Tier 2" vendors. But the quality of the models varies. Sure would prefer to see any item before buying -- have been disappointed a couple times. Still, for the most part, they are OK. I have even got mixed units of H&R and GHQ stuff, and it usually works out OK once everything is painted up. The H&R infantry in particular is useful -- good variety / selection of poses, and good selection of forces modelled. Quality is only OK, but at this scale maybe that's OK. In the mid-1990s I settled on H&R as the main vendor for my infantry. This was before the new GHQ individual infantry was released. H&R figures beat out the old GHQ stuff (never liked the en bloc figures), and CinC infantry was/is just WAAAYYYY too fragile for my wargaming purposes. Now I buy GHQ figures if/when they have what I want. But H&R is still "in the bull-pen", and their figures are prominent in several of my armies.-Mark 1

Some on TMP have indicated quick turnaround when direct ordering, usually in a week across the pond.

I agree about the quality issue. But GHQ is a little large-ish, and they are not without their poor figures. Never liked how they put a solid block under their tripod-mounted MMG. MMG (the gaming group) has also mixed figures without any trouble. And we play a lot of infantry-only games.Cheers,Gregory
