I realize the the rules are still in the beta, but I'm putting together a US armored rifle company for Men Panzer and the forth coming game/expansion. Are there any basing guidelines out yet? I'm trying to determined how many stands to base a squad over, two (with 5-6 per stand) or three (with 3-4 per stand). I'm assuming base size doesn't play an important factor, the same as MP?Thanks,Dave

Hi Dave,Apologies for the delay but work gets in the way sometimes now. The premise for MT is that a squad of 10 men normally consisted of 2 fire teams and one support weapon (LMGs typically). So as an example, a German WW2 squad would consist of 2 Fire team stands and one 2 man MG34/42 stand. The fire team stand was based as a 4 figure stand. This is the same basic basing as with MP now, except that the LMG would not be on the stand.

Thanks Bob,So in the case of a US armored rifle squad, without a support weapon in the squad, just the two fire team stands then?

Dave, the US Armored Rifle Squad has a BAR and is listed in the WW2 Data Book as a Rifle/BAR squad. The BAR is an actual team like other countries LMG teams and has one ammo carrier designated to the BAR gunner. The Ammo carrier does carry and use an M1 to support. In that case, the BAR Team would be mounted on a two-man stand witha BAR gunner and a rifleman. To answer your question in a general sense, if a squad does not have a support weapon inherent with the squad then yes, you would use two 4-man stands to represent the squad.Did I muddy the waters for you yet? :D

Meine Truppen generally has two stands per squad, each representing a section. The sections have one point of casualties each, so they are removed when hit.
