Awesome! GQ 3.3 is a great work. Thanks so much for keeping the rules going.

Hi, I'm a recent lurker here, and just purchased QC III a month ago. However, I played my first game of GQ I in about 1976, and loved it. Due to growing family and work and school back then, I couldn't justify buying the miniatures and frankly, I did a lousy assembly/paint job on the few that I did have. But I still recall my first solo game on the dining room floor one snowy night in December '76. What a blast...kids asleep, wife off to her night shift at the hospital, and I had 4-5 glorious hours of solitute, playing a night action off Guadalcanal. I eventually did get into minature gaming more (French and Indian War, British Colonials) but for several reasons, I just didn't want to invest the time, and money in naval miniatures. Then about 2 months ago, I saw something on TMP about GQ III, checked it out at ODGW, and bang!, some dopamine or something went off in my head and I just had to get it. I'm very glad I did, and the 3.3 clarifications really helped.

So far I've dropped about $600 at GHQ for 1/2400 ships, repainted my gaming tables blue (3 tables, for a 12' x 6' total), and am happily going through the rules while doing alot of cleaning, basing and painting little ships. [My painting skills have vastly improved in the last 37 years. :-) ]

Just wanted to stay thank you for not abandoning the rules system in the intervening years! And by the way, I still have my original GQ I rule booklet, including the turn template!

I have several people who are interested in 3.3 - how can they buy it? Do they buy the 3.0 download and then also get the 3.3 download? What should I tell them? The store says nothing, and we've got a game for me to run in two weeks, trying to get prepared.

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words and welcome back to the fold! Like you, GQ3 got me back into WWII naval and FAI got me into WWI naval (my main passion) after a long hiatus. Now I have in 1/6000 the all the German and British ships that were at Jutland (and more above that), the entire WWI US, Japanese, French and Italian fleets. Plus a ever growing WWII colection. Like you, I started, oh so long ago, with GQ1 and 2 (although my original GQ1 turn gauge went missing long ago and the booklet is tattered and torn from over use). And here's hoping for many more enjoyable games!

The new download will be the new version. Additionally, all registered purchasers have access to all the free supplements in the download library.
