Hi there,

Were the German battleship fire control systems especially vulnerable?

In the action against Renown, Gneisenau's fire control got knocked out by Renown's 2 hits. In Bismark's final action it's fire control got knocked out very early, and at North Cape Scharnhorst lost it's radar and fire control quick as well.

Should the German critical hit table be modified to reflect this?

Not really.  There are several battles with different navies where fire control (or associated systems) were knocked out (example: the hit to South Dakota's electrical system).  Given the nature of the damage system and the lack of enough data (3 examples are not really enough), increasing the probability from the current 1-2 on the critical hit table would be too much of shift.  I'd mark up the results as more bad luck than anything else.
