I've a question about submerged TT; aren't they protected by the belt armor from gun fire? If that is so and they receive a hit that also penetrates the armor, shouldn't their destruction cause flooding (given the size of the torpedo flat)? It seems to me that such a hit would probably cost an additional hull hit at least. I know this must not come up very often in WWII but there are those of us who like to see our ABCs used and abused and I believe all the ABC dreadnoughts retained their submerged TT.

No additional damage is incurred when a underwater torpedo tube is hit.
