I've been using FAI for the last couple of months....at first, we played the gunnery CRT smoke adjustment being made when passing through the funnel smoke of ANY fast coal-fuelled ship. Then, after reading the forums, I saw the BBQ analogy from June 2008 https://www.odgw.com...021-coal-smoke/ So last few games been applying the above rule....only adjust CRT when firing through own smoke. However, yesterday, I was trawling through the forums & downloads & came across the amended & optional FAI rules (I don't know why I hadn't seen them before) & saw the smoke rule "when her LoF passes through any part of the smoke interference zone downwind of any high speed coal fired ship." I believe the optional rules were written in 2011 & if so, after the BBQ analogy. So, re smoke, for clarification, is the CRT adjustment for firing through own ship's smoke only or all smoke?
