I have two questions to be cleared up, when using both parts of Soviet Doctrine: 1) At what range can you start to independly target things, some people say at 12 inches and others say 24 inches. 2) When you are caculating your army using both doctrine, example regular russian troops you use like .91 times your point value, and then when using both doctine I mutiply it again by .90 is that correct or not.Comrade,Andrew Burton

Hey Andrew! Here is the Doctrine rule as written on page 13.4:"When using Doctrine, each stand in a platoon must perform the same Standard Action if outside 24" of the enemy. If one stand fires, they all must fire. When firing, in fact, Soviet doctrine requires all stands tofire upon the same target! If one vehicle in the platoon is unable to draw LOS to that target, it may not fire at a different target.Instead, it may not fire at all. Once within 24" of the enemy, all vehicles within a platoon may act independently of one another. Note – this only applies if the stands start their activation within 24". Simply moving to within 24" does not negate the use of doctrine."So answer to question 1 is 24"Next, here is the rule for Adjusted Point Values:"When using either one of the above options, the Soviet players gain a Points Multiplier of 0.95. If using both the options, the Point Multiplier is 0.90. This multiplier is applied to the final point cost of the units."So the answer to question 2 is if you use either Doctrine or Company Activation in the Soviet Doctrine Optional Rule then the points mulitplier would be .95. If you use both Doctrine and Company Activation then the points multiplier would be .90. This multiplier is then applied to the final point value. Thus if using a T-34 model 1940 with BPV of 116 with regular crew with multiplier .99 and using both the Doctrine and Company Activation optional rules .90, then the T-34 model 1940 would be a Net Point Value (NPV) of 116 x .99 x .90 = 103 (round to nearest). Hope this helps. If not let me know.
