Can someone explain to me the column shifts due to ADR adjustments during the search procedure in night combat.Do I only shift the die result or do I also shift the range? In the example with the Italian ship; if this ship had a left column shift, am I right that she will acquire another ship up to 8000 yards with a roll of 3?

You would shift the die roll needed for acquistion. Can someone explain to me the column shifts due to ADR adjustments during the search procedure in night combat.Do I only shift the die result or do I also shift the range?
That would be correct. Normally, at 8000yds the ship in question would acquire a ship with a roll of 1. With a 1 column shift to the left, the die roll needed would go up to 1-3. The range stays the same while the chance to acquire increases. In the example with the Italian ship; if this ship had a left column shift, am I right that she will acquire another ship up to 8000 yards with a roll of 3?
