I am a bit silly but on the carrier when it might say 3 f that means it has three flights and to find out the number of planes you take 3x3=9 fighters to find the number of fighters the carriers has right or am I wrong? If wrong some clairfication on how to find out how many to put down when getting ready for operations.thank youandrew Burton

The number indicated is the number of flights available (generally speaking, each flight is equal to 3 aircraft). For resolving combat, you use flights, not individual aircraft.
