Hi,I have not played MP for a while (2003 to be exact) and Plan to pick up the new MP2 rule books this week. But I have a few friends that have a lot of 15mm miniatures for a popular "fast paced WW2" game and I would like them to try MP. My question is how well does it play at 15mm and is there a change in the scale for measurement. Ie temples, command range, ect. I would like to introduce these folks to some other WW2 min games. thanks, marky

Ok Picked up the book today form The Panzer Depot near Seattle, Looks like there is a note about the templets being in online for 15mm look like I just need to get access to that stuff. But it does not say anything about other ranges, like reactive fire, Range of weapons would it be safe to just double all the current numbers. ( I notice Comand with form 2 in for 6mm to 4 for 15mm.) -again thanksMarky

Hey Marky,No there is not any official changes to the ranges with 15mm as technically the ground scale remains the same for weapons ranges. However, if you play with the ranges as they are and don't like the feel, then feel free to double them.

Just started playing Mein Panzer, but 15mm is definately the way to go. The visual experience is better than micro armor.

I've seen reference in a couple places to the fact that there are 15mm or 20mm scale templates available for MP, but the discussion above seems to indicate that there isn't. Is that true? I'd hate to go back to another rules set to use 15mm models.

Hi Randy! Yes there are templates on the site for 10mm and 15mm for you to download. They are located at:

Downloads> Private Access Library> Mein Panzer 2> Core Rules> Components

What we don't have OFFICALLY, yet anyways, is reference cards and details on doubling all ranges (min, max and firing), doubling spotting ranges and movement. We have tinkered with this a few times, but haven't done anything official. Jon, the original designer had said that the original rules were designed for the ground scale 1"=50yds which would necessitate keeping the everything the same. The doubling changes discussed actually would change the ground scale to 1"=25yds which moves the game along well for the larger scales and to some, makes the larger scales more visually appealing. That is a judgment call. I think I will come up with a short section for the web downloads section and address this option as it is liked by some. If you would like to try it, just double all ranges on the Advanced Reference Card and double all movement and firing ranges on the tables in the Data Books when creating your scenario.

I personally use 15mm do like the visual aspect of 15mm. I also think 10mm is great too and you can squeeze a bit more on the table. :)

Hi

we do play in 15mm now for a few years (actually using the minis of that fast paced WWII game). We tried both, ie doubled disctances for mvt (and shooting obviously) and leave as is.

The far better play experience is leaving as is if you do have a standard gaming table (5-6/8-9 foot).

Our group routinely uses 1"=25 yds, and we will use it for the Omaha Beach scenario that my friends are putting together in 15mm. It will look awesome, I am all set to go to Europe on a battlefield tour in September, will take lots of pictures to use for the German fortifications.

Cheers,
