Greetings Fellow Tankers & Shipmates,

In today's society, we seem to be getting more and more mobile. We like to have our 'stuff' accessible while on the go. Using an electronic media device can certainly make traveling easier and lighter when compared to lugging manuals around. Here at ODGW, we are interested in knowing the following:

  • Do you use E-Books?
  • If you use E-Books, what is your preferred 'E-Device'?
  • What is your preferred E-Book format?
Please take a moment to vote and let us know. If your E-Device or format isn't listed, please feel free to post the device model and format used.

Note: If you answer 'No' or 'What is an E-Book?' for question one, please select 'N/A' for questions two and three.

I use a Sony Reader Touch. Great for ePub format, not so hot for PDF.

I use a Kindle.
And I also use a free application called calibre (see here....) which can convert file formats for e-readers. So my kindle uses 'mobi' files by default but calibre can convert epub files to mobi so i can use them also (and vice versa).

But... pdf's are not so hot on the kindle either and can be a pain in the proverbial to read.

What I am not sure about is the ability to convert a file if it has file protection on it (which I presume you will be having on your files). For example, i cannot convert the books I have brought off Amazon for my Kindle to epubs as they have file protection on them. This is not an issue for me but i don't want to make everyone think that they can convert everything to anything etc etc.
Regards,

Craig

I have the GQ3 PDF files on a micro SD card in my Nook Color. I printed out charts and use the nook to consult the rules on the floor. Not too bad.

I have all of the ODGW PDF products on my iPad and use it to consult the rules during games. It sure beats hauling all of the books (nearly 50lbs since they are in 3-ring binders and sheet protectors) to conventions and game sessions.
