Hello everyone;
I have noticed in various posts a reference to a table size of 7'x5'. For those of you who use that size, how did you put it together? Can you find boards that size or are they multiple smaller boards. I have just enough comfortable room to move up from a 6'x4' to a 7'x5' and would like to know what the best way to accomplish this would be.

Thank you in advance.
Take care,
Skip

Well, I can tell right off that there isn't any single piece of plywood that fits the bill. To get close, you might look into a couple of hollow core door blanks placed side by side. A 80"x 30" door is pretty standard and two would give you a 80"x 60" surface. I'd place them on at least 3 supports (long sawhorses perhaps). And, if you're lucky, you might be able to find discounted door blank seconds at a DIY store. Another option is to use 3 60"x30" folding tables side by side. This would give you a 90"x60" area and you can fold them up for storage. (Go for the sturdy commercial grade, you don't want the filmsy 'card table' type for this!)

Hello Shadow,

A standard ping-pong table is 9'x5'. The folding style works well, and packs away nicely after a game. If you don't want the full ping-pong table, it is possible to obtain a 'replacement table top' but it will probably be in two sections.

Regards,

Tom.
