Hi, after seeing an e-mail on the forum about ship labels for Post Captain here are some examples that I use for WW II.
Each ship's label was created in Microsoft Excel by scaling for ship length and width including a wake with the appropriate naval ensign plus its name.
The labels were run off in sheets, which were then pasted onto 20 thou plastic card.
Label perimeters were then scored using a sharp craft knife guided by a steel rule.
Bending the scored edges broke the labels away ready to have their edges painted blue.
The painted miniatures were then glued into place and their waterlines painted white, any excess adhesive once painted adding to the visual effect.
Miniatures are a mix of 1:3000 Navwar and Davco.
Regards, Phil
