Apologies if this has been asked before.
I've bought the rules, ordered miniatures, dice etc....
However my fellow player and I are unlikely to find a 3rd person for refereeing (living in the back end of nowhere on a small island!)
What elegant solutions do people have for hidden movement (deck logs seem cumbersome for that application), signaling, etc

For hidden movement without a ref you need markers with some of them being dummies (perhaps as many as half). As for delays in signaling, I'd advise placing the signal (face down) in the center of the table with the GT it becomes executive written on the up side. The other thing you need to do without a ref in low visibility is to pre-plot your movement until you make contact. That way you see tyhe markers, but you can not react to them until you can see the ships.

I've just discovered the Berthier software program.... great for off-table movement & blends perfectly with the FAI rules using 30 minute turns when out of contact
