The ANZAC Squadron, the ABDA’s ace in the hole

The entire ANZAC Squadron (not just HMAS Perth & Hobart) was added to the Allied OOB for play balance and boy are they needed. These six cruisers represent the single greatest and best collection of Allied fighting power. Their weakness is their lack of destroyers, but that is fixable. As RAdm Crace you have;

CA HMAS Australia; four 8” D12 & = search radar

CA HMAS Canberra; four 8” D12 & 2 quad TT

CL HMAS Perth; four 6” D12, 2 quad TT & = search radar

CL HMAS Hobart; four 6” D12 & 2 quad TT

CL HMNZS Achilles & Leander; four 6” D12, 2 quad TT & = search & FC radar

All of your 6” rapid fire.

Good stuff, but you are going to need destroyers. The Brits should transfer HMAS Vampire to you on GT1 and the Americans should gift you 5 more cans on GT2. You should take the DD reinforcement on GT3;

DD HMAS Nestor; three 4.7” D12, 1 quintuplet TT, = search & - FC radar

DD HMAS Napier & Niziam; three 4.7” D12, 1 quintuplet TT & = search radar

The main choice facing you is do you transfer to Surabaya or stay at Darwin. I’m for staying at Darwin and sortieing against the EAF eastern axis every GT. Remember, your sweeps cover Surabaya. You don’t care if the engagement is daylight or at night. You are as good as it gets for the Allies at either. If the Allies win and it’s about 50/50 so far, then it is likely that your efforts won it.
