I was going through the RN Deluxe Ship Logs picking out logs for the RN ships in WestGroup, ABDA and realized that HMS Durban was not among them and neither was HMS Dunedin. I checked to make sure I had the names right and found that not to be a problem. I then discovered that Dunedin had been transferred to the New Zealand navy in 1925 and that settled her as I know that the logs for Commonwealth ships are not provided. But Durben remained Her Majesties Ship until she was scuttled off Normandy in 1944.

So the question is; "Where is Durben's ship log"?

HMS Durban and HMS Dunedin (which transferred to the RNZN in 1924) were part of the 8 ship D-Class and can be represented by HMS Danae for the dates in question.

As for why these two ships were left out while the other six were included (including HMS Diomede, which had transferred to the RNZN in 1925), I can't answer that one; for that, you would need to ask the author of the logs.
