Well we're back from Cold Wars and I thought I'd try to get these pics out soonest before life chores drag me away...We all had a pretty good time. I'll let the other comments if they are brave enough! <grin>First game was a "come play against the ODGW staff" game. JD was the Game Master and as always puts on a good and LARGE game. The game write up from the program was:New Game F128 Bravery on the Beach6 hours; Rules: Mein Panzer; 12 mm.; 8 Players;Host Room Table H-3;by:JD PerrySponser: Old Dominion GameWorks (ODGW); Prize: YesAmphibious Landing on the Island of Peleliu, come play the staff. The Battle of Peleliu was a fight to capture an airstrip on a speck of coral in the western Pacific. Only two minutes off schedule, on 15 September 1944, the first troops began landing at 0832, once ashore, Marines were faced with razor sharp coral and heavy resistance. TheJapanese protected by reinforced underground fortifications, casements and pillboxes fronted on all the beaches, unleashed a storm of coordinated mortar and machine gun fire upon the first wave of troops. The Marines soon found their way inland blocked by extensive minefields and pillboxes carved into the raw coral. Come test your metal against the ODGW Staff and maneuver your Marines to Victory. Experienced Players Request, but Rules will be taught.

So now for the first picNotes - The white lines on the table are showing the trench network on the island connecting the pill boxes... the Marine infantry stand are actually in the Amphibs coming ashore. Posted Image
