Great information - I think. I'm having some trouble figuring out the column abbreviations.

For example; on the weapons tables what does 'FF' stand for?

The abbreviations on the Army Tables are a complete mystery except for 'Stands'. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that 'SK' indicates the unit has the ability to use skirmish formation. TQ, MM and FM are completely unknown.

I've looked through the book but could not find a key. Maybe it's just me. Don't know. So, anyway.....HELP!

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg,

No worries I'm here to help. The information you seek is in Chapter 9, Table Help. Chapter 9 identifies and explains all of the acronyms used in the Army, Small Arms, Weapons, Leaders and Ships tables.

In the Weapons Table  (page 9.2), FF stands for Fire Factor.

In the Army Table (page 9.1),

  • SK stands for Skirmish
  • TQ stands for Troop Quality
  • MM stands for Melee Modifier
  • FM stands for Fire Modifier

Hope this helps! :)

It helps tremendously. I don't seem to have a Chapter 9. My copy goes from Chapter 4 and then skips to Chapter 24. Is Chapter 9 posted someplace for download?

Thanks,

Greg

Greg,

Have you registered your copy of Historical Battlelines on the web site?  Every copy comes with a unique serial number (last page of the book).  You should not be missing 14 total chapters.

Where did you buy your book?

Thanks

Hi Greg,

If you have registered your copy, which I'm assuming you did, you download the complete book by logging on to the website, select Downloads, Private access Library, Historical Battlelines then Core Rules (Downloads → Private Access Library → Historical Battlelines → Core Rules).
