I agree, some brilliant work, Thomas. I can barely see 1/2400 aircraft, much less paint them, lol.

Here are a few more of Gambier Bay and one of CVE-63 St. Lo

Gambier 5b
Gambier 2a
Gambier 3a
Gambier Compare1
Gambier Airgroup

How the air group is installed. Glue planes to a cut to size thin plastic sheet (from a common report cover in this case), allows model to be displayed with or without aircraft. Using white glue to attach. take care in handling as the plastic sheet is very flexible the planes can pop off easily

Excellent work on both of those ships, Thomas!  You did a great job on the dazzle camouflage on the Gambier Bay.  That is a neat idea for the aircraft as well.

German Battlecruiser Mackensen 3D print by COB Miniatures. If WW1 ended somewhat differently this ship could have been completed and later refit in the 1930's. The designer of the model updated the heavy AA and added 4 x 5.9" twin mounts to the secondary battery. I think some of the casemate secondaries the designer kept would have been removed in a "real world" refit as they would interfere with the loading mechanisms for the twin 5.9" mounts. In my opinion, a more logical refit would have removed all the casemate guns and either added two more twin 5.9" mounts or 2 more large AA mounts. If the AA mounts were added, then I would also place two more directors alongside the aft funnel.

Really terrific print and paint on Mackensen; a great opponent for Hood down the line.
