I did some calculations for fuel burn for DD & CA-CS, using chart 10A, when they are with a Carrier TF.My assumption is for every 8hr campaign turn a Carrier TF will spend 2 hours at 25kts for launch/land CAP & search aircraft. This includes the time increasing speed from 15 to 25kts. Rotating the CAP would happen often, so this is how I arrived at 2hrs. Is this a fair assumption 2 of every 8 daytime hours?I also counted 2 of 3 turns a day as active launch/land times. (Daylight). I did not calculate cruise speeds of 5kts as I didn't feel a CV TF would ever cruise at 5kts and still retain the ability to launch planes (25 kts of wind over the deck). The result would be tons of fuel burned at cruising speed including all increases for launch/recover speed increases. 10Kts 15Kts 20kts DD 25 30 40 CA-CS 35 45 60 Any thoughts on this?
