Tully's book has been criticized for some inaccuracies so I would not rely upon it too heavily, Japanese technological improvements during WWII were few and far between. Finally got around to reading Battle of Suriago Strait by Anthony P. Tully. In the book, Tully makes several references to the IJN using radio-telephone voice communication, and in fact actually refers to it as "TBS".Is there merit in modifying optional rule 1.20 Tactical Communication Between Ships to allow the IJN, at some point, to utilize it?Any idea as of what date?Besides the USN and RN (and probably RAN/RNZN, starting in 1942 IAW 1.20 - and probably Free French ships refit in the US or UK?), did any other nations develop "TBS"? I don't recall anything in Hara's Japanese Destroyer Captain that led me to deduce the use of IJN "TBS" in the Solomons battles he was in - but maybe I'll have to go read it again Dave
