this is a question from a complete newbie, I picked up a copy of GQ1, and have pitched and bought some miniatures from MY, I'm stuck on how to use the turn gauges/templates and broadsides, could someone walk me through their use.

I wish could help on this, but its been well over a dozen years since I played GQ1/2 (don't even have the rules anymore) and just don't recall the movement rules. There is a fairly active GQ1/2 group on Yahoo Groups; you might want to check with them.
