I'm building a couple of GHQ 1:2400 carriers and I'm struggling with how to do the lines on the flight deck. Do people use some sort of paint pen?

One option to explore are the carrier flight deck decals available at Flight Deck Decals ( https://www.flightdeckdecals2400.com ).

Hi this is my 1:3000 scale Ark Royal.
I googled "Ark Royal images" and found an image of her flight deck.
It was then relatively easy to scale the image to match the miniature and print it off.
I positioned the image on the model and cut around the island, etc, before using a thin layer of PVA to paste it in place.
After allowing it to dry completely I carefully shaded in the image's cut white edge.
I hope this helps.

An excellent job, Phil; Ark Royal looks very sharp.
I haven't done many flight-decks, but here's one, my postwar Hornet:

Hi Cooldiscodan31!
I concur with Begemot on checking out Flight Deck Decals. They do have a great selection of aircraft carrier deck markings. Having done 3 aircraft carriers myself, I can attest to the fact that a decal is easier than trying to cobble together various separate markings or even paint them on yourself.
Here is the GHQ Shinano that I painted several years ago. The deck decal was provided by my friend Tanner Simmons. This was before Flight Deck Decals was around. Without that, I would have been trying to cut and paste all the various markings.
