. I’ve played General quarters for several years using 3.0 I guess. Discussing some rule differences with a friend. I realized there is a 3.3 version. At least that’s the copy my friend has. How do I update mine to 3.3? I couldn’t find it anywhere here on the website. Thanks

All revisions are available to folks who have registered their copy of the rules from the private download library on this site.

Couple questions first:

  1. When did you purchase your copy of GQ 3?
  2. Where did you purchase your copy of GQ 3?

I have checked your account and there was no registration found.

Hi Kenny,

Thank you for the speedy reply.

Gosh, I couldn't remember when I bought it - I want to say 2014 but I could only find email discussions with friends about topics in the rule book from 2017. That being said, I don't know if purchasing automatically registers you or if that's a separate thing, but I'm not good at that sort of thing. I own the version 3 rules (3-ring binder) and have played without any issues for that many years. Wonderful rule set with as much detail as one could ever need. Recently in discussing campaign rules for submarines with a friend we discover the the rule's section numbers we were discussing didn't match and I realized there is a 3.3 (don't get on the website much nor the internet for that matter). I think it had been years since logging onto the website but Interesting that when I went to log in and didn't accept my password I had to request log on again and when I went to setting to make the PW reasonable It says there I've been here since 2022...... I pretty sure that's not correct. As to where I purchased it - I want to say, here. I'm not sure where else its sold, but at my age anything's possible.

In any case, my plan is to sit down and go through my friend's rule book and compare it to mine. If there are significant differences I will just order a new one. I think otherwise we have been playing without any issues all this time and may just keep using the version I have. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,  All our rules printed on loose leaf 3-hole paper.  This facilitates updates to be inserted as needed w/o the purchase of a new book.

Physical printed rules have a registration page with a unique serial number that requires registering with your account here on the site.

Digital versions of the rules are automatically registered upon purchase.  Then you can print as you see fit.

Once a rule set is registered you own it and all subsequent versions / updates for free.  Just have to down load them.

Unfortunately, if you do not have the registration page of your current book you will need to purchase either the Digital or Printed version again.

I have reviewed your account (associated with your email address) and found the purchase of the US Pacific Ship logs.  You have not registered your copy of GQ3.  Once this is completed you will have access to the Private DL Library with all the files plus bonus free files.

Hope this helps.
