16-31 December 1941

The partial destruction of the 2nd Sentai coupled with the withdrawal of the crippled Fuso resulted in the emergency reinforcement of the 1st Sentai (Nagato class) with the accompaniment of Admiral Yamamoto. The Japanese bombed Singapore to deny repair there and the subsequently reinforced WAF would sortie 2 invasion convoys that conducted successful landings at Singora (2nd Malayan convoy) and at Miri in Brunei/Borneo. The Singapore Index would advance to 2.

Meanwhile the RN was licking its wounds in Singapore and trying desperately to get Force Z ready for another sortie. The Dutch subs would try to help but could not find anything (I rolled a 12 to get them and then another 12 to make them useless).

In the EAF theater the EAF would take Jolo and Daveo on Mindanao unopposed as TF 5 under RAdm Glassford withdrew from Tarakan to Surabaya to join with bulk of the US Asiatic Fleet there.

January would see fresh Allied reinforcements and possibility of getting something done to stem the Japanese tide presently washing over the Malay Barrier
