Hello,

Page1-9, section 1.5.5 equivalent damage rolls. it states in the example "two 6" hits on a CL are not adjusted, this is nominal target class...".
How do I know what is a nominal target class for a gun caliber? thanks

CL is the USN designation for a  Light Cruiser. The Armor chart at 1.6 tells you the "nominal" thickness for each type of armor. CL = 2-3" belt armor and 1-2" deck armor.

The fact that some CLs have more or less armor is historical; but the nominal range covers many light cruisers.

James,

In game terms. what is meant by "nominal target class" for a particular gun is whichever class(es) have a 'x1' entry in the Equivalent Damage Table.  For a 6" gun it is 'CA-CS', which would include a CL.
