This battle represents a veteran German grenadier battalion, supported by a reduced company Pz IV’s and some artillery assaulting a factory complex defended by Green Soviet Infantry with a few T80’s and BA10’s. This battle was fought using the Fog of War house rule.

Although half the Fog of War counters are dummies – it transpired that this factory building was very heavily occupied

The Germans move onto the board in two columns

The track is unfortunately not to scale

The Mk IV’s lead this column and moved toward the low hill in front of them.

The other column moved onto another low hill seeking some cover from the woods

The Battalion CO and the FO occupied the middle of the board.

The lead grenadiers unload to start spotting for enemy units.

The Pz IV’s continue to lead, the halftracks and trucks follow behind.

I sent the unpainted units first (somehow I don’t seem to care so much about them.) I took a risk that the defending Fog of War counter was a dummy – unfortunately I was wrong!

The BA10’s realising they are currently safe from the Panzers, move forward to cover the advance of the German Halftrack, fortunately being Green they fail to hit anything.
