Pretty much after this point we concluded a few things as it was 6pm and we started just before noon. Some people had to go.On the east flank, it was decided that the smaller KG with the SS Panther Platoon would have kept the US Armored Company to the front busy.On the west a Panther platoon and Jpz section had engaged another US armored company and was laready punching holes in that company. Thye too would have kept the panthers busy for a couple turns. The town was not to be taken, call it bad tactics, incorrect force multiplier, US artillery or all of the above. The German objectives were;- Occupy the town- Exit 50% of the German forces west of Gilbert along the roadUS Objective;- Prevent German objectives- Eliminate 30% of enemy forcesScenario will be published shortly.OUT!

That initial German smoke mission going off target sure gave the Germans a tough time in front of the town. Curious to know if the river was fordable along its length or did the German’s have to find them? Also what forces were actually held up in the town - I can make out a couple of AT guns.A good sized battle looking forward to the scenario being published. Shows how tough it is to assault a prepared position. Thanks for posting. In the first photo there is an enormous green twenty sided dice – love to know what you do with that!

To Trotsky.....The river had the one bridge and one prepared ford. The river could be forded along its entire length but required an action to spot a potential crossing. Then it was an unprepared ford versus blind fording. The town actually had 2 ATG plus some troops initially, but they poured another company into it. US artillery did their job of harrasment, slowed down the advance twice. I kept making poor roles on artillery accuarcy and effectivesness to at least disrupt. The Big Green 20 sided die is reserved for those "make or break" situations.

Here's the OOB for the German side. There may be a bit too many untis still in the OOB, but you are certainly able to limit the amount of stuff to suit your need.

Oh, I forgot to mention above, in the GHQ scenario it does not call for US air units. However, when we played the scenario, the GM designed the scenario to have foggy conditions for about half the game. Once lifted, then the P-51s would have arrived.Enjoy and anyone who tries it out, let us know how it worked for you.
