Hi,I have a question concerning spotting hidden infantry. In the rules, under the section Spotting infantry onpage 5.5 it is mentioned that ' Hidden infantry are spotted if they fire within 12'' and LOS of the enemy. Within 2'' they lose hidden status. Now on the reference card under spotting it is mentioned:Infantry, crewed served weapons or camouflaged vehicles don't lose hidden status after firing. Now which one of the two statements are correct? :woohoo:
Hidden infantry

They are both right... sort of... Infantry do not lose hidden status if they fire outside of 12". The reference card has a general statement to clue the player into not losing hidden status and remind about the hidden status rule in the book. The rules are absolutely correct. I may see if I can cram some more detail into the card, but there is little room left. :S

Another question concerning this 2" distance. Why is there a +4 modifier for spotting up to 2" if even infantry is automatically spotted within this distance?

Hi Bob,Good question. After consulting the Core Rules the answer is...It is not necessary according to what I read in the Core Rules, Chapter 5, page 5.5, Middle Column, Spotting Infantry Section:"Within 2" they lose hidden status."So either I am missing something and Jon needs to clarify or the modifier can be removed.
