I'm starting a campaign in which I'm using the point values listed in Mein Panzer's Data Book because it covers land, sea, and air, with one exception that carriers are not listed. I realize they're not use directly in land combat but their planes are. Is there a formula for figuring them out or do you have them and just left them out of the data.

Well we actually left off submarines too. It was a conscious decision to leave both carriers and submarines out. Carriers function as airbases out of the area of a typical MP game. They would provide air support so the aircraft would be the only ones to see the battle area. I probably could figure out a point value for them but I feel that it would be astronomical since you would have to add the point values for every plane on board. Figure that an Essex class carrier has 85 planes and the typical early war carriers had 40 to 70 planes! Even the Jeep carriers were halling 20+ planes. If it were me, I would use the point values for each plane plus 200 points for the carrier. That would get you in the ball park. B)If you REALLY need them I could come up with them but it would take a bit and I am in the middle of a couple of projects already so I might be a while.
