How do people handle multiple bulkhed hits, our group hs three difering opinions:A) 1st BH hit, lose a hull box and roll to repair. 2nd (before repair) becomes unrepairable lose 1 hull box per turn from now on. 3rd (before repairing the 1st) lose a hull box and roll to repair [thus two hull boxes this turn], 3rd...well you get the drift. So you only have one BH to repair but may be losing hull boxes each turn without hope!B) 1st BH hit, lose hull box and roll to repair, 2nd (before repair) lose hull box and roll to repair (except you can only make one damage repair roll so guaranteed to lose at least one more hull box). So you may have multiple ruptured BH at the same time but can only repair a max of one per turn.C) 1st BH hit, lose hull box and roll to repair, 2nd (before repair) lose hull box and roll to repair. A successful repair stops the loss of the hull box even though you've lost 2 BH [ie 2 hull boxes]. This assumes the loss of a BH is successive watertight compartments being lost - you're only ever trying to hold the BH at the point of flooding not multiple BH.There may be another way but these are the three views in a our group. Is anyone of them the 'official' one? Is there a better way? Which way would you recommend?Zippee

First, bulkhead hits are not subject to the "unrepairable" mechanic.Immediately upon receiving a bulkhead hit, you mark off a hull box. In subsequent Damage Control Phases, the crew may attempt ONE repair - regardless of the number of fires, bulkhead hits, engineering hits, etc. the ship has sustained. For every bulkhead hit (or fire for that matter) remaining after the repair attempt, lose another hull box.

co_diver hit it on head; Bulkhead and Fire hits are cumulative. So, if you have multiple Fires and/or Bulkheads, you are definitely in a BAD place!

Tom,That would be under "1.9 Damage Control". The rule states: "The captain of a damaged vessel may attempt to repair damageduring the Damage Control Phase at the beginning of eachGame Turn. He can attempt to extinguish Fires or containflooding (Bulkhead hit) or he can attempt to repair a damagedEngineering or Rudder box or one sensor (radar, RFC, hydrophoneor sonar) on her Ship Log. Only ONE repair attemptcan be made for each damaged ship in a Damage Control Phase. The captain must choose which type to attempt to repair."

Brings to mind the old DCA (Damage Control Assistant) joke: "Captain, the good news is the flooding put out the fire!"

That's actually what saved the Boise at Cape Esperance.
