ok silly question time... please be gentle... The gunnery range chart has a bold line moving horizontally between gun size columns. What does this mean? TIA--Kenny

The 'line' defines when you can fire over a ship that is between a firing ship and a target ship. The details are laid out in rule '1.5.2 Line of Fire (LoF)' which states:'A battery can fire over an intervening ship when its shelltrajectory is high enough to clear her superstructure and rig.The range must exceed the minimum indicated by the darkhorizontal line on the GUNFIRE CRT and the interveningship must be at least 3000 yds from the firing battery.'So, for example, a US BB with 16" guns can fire over a ship as long as it is more that 3000yds from it and the range to the target is more than 15000yds.
