I'm a bit confused by the detection and acquisition rules used in the Night Fighting section of the rules.


At page 1-19 of the rules it says that you announce the sensor type being used (visual or radar) and roll using the procedure at 1.11.2.

At 1.11.2 it says you can use SW radar to detect surface vessels in the Detection Phase using the Radar Detection table.

But how so you work out detection if you're using visual, not radar?

Do you use the Dark Acquisition table? If so, does this mean that when using visual,detection and acquisition are identical? (i.e. If you identify, you also acquire?)

Also, since detection and acquisition is only used in night games, shouldn't all the stuff about detection and acqusition be included under the night rules?
