Attached is the .pdf post game writeup from the Tactical Solutions Gaming Convention, Spokane, WA October 6-7 2012. The scenario involved ships chopped down by Washington - Royal Navy G3 class battlecruisers and Japanese Amagi class battlecruisers, hence the name. Rules were General Quarters 2nd edition.

I like this. Not enough interwar actions done. Especially like that the players didn't fight it out until the last ship went down. Quite realistic feel to this.

I confess to a weakness for "never - were" ships and oddball scenarios. I hope to get other "Cherrytree" ships into action, as well as German "H" class, Japanese B-65 and Sovietsky Soyuz.
This was the third GQ 2nd Edition action at a Tactical Solutions Convention. In 2009 we had "The Battle of the River Plate 1945" with an Argentinian fleet built around Moreno and Rivadavia trying to break a Brazilian blockade based on Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo. Last year's had "The Naval Battle of Batum - 1942" postulating Turkey joining the Axis and the Soviet Black Sea fleet battling a Turkish/Italian fleet for the port of Batum.

We had a cherrytree game not so long ago and the G class BC tore shreds of the Jap BC's. I was quite surprised really as the Japs had the advantages in guns!

Armor might have made the difference. I rated the G3s as BA class as opposed to BB for the Amagis.
