Pete,  They look great!!!   You and Don need to get together.   North Africa is his fav gaming period.

Funny story about the M13/40....   Don likes to game in 15mm.  I like to 3d print tanks!!  So naturally , he gives me a list and the 13/40 are there.   I find a STL ready to print model and off I go!   He wants like 8-10 of these, but that's no biggie...   Now recall I'm a Post WWII buff.  WWII is familiar but early war (especially Italian stuff), not so much.   As they were printing I thought they were tiny, maybe tankettes?  The printer is humming away and when done I collect them and take to Don.  He takes one look and says "What are these?!?"  My reply is the 13/40.  He shakes his head and says "But I need them in 15mm scale."

I had forgotten to re-scale the original file from 8mm to 15mm!!!

Don laughed and true to his nature took the tiny tanks, painted them and pasted them out to myself and gaming buddies as gifts!!

Made me always remember to check scale when printing!!!

LOL

Something to remember when I get around to giving 3D printing a try!

The Italians look great, Peter. I've got a few 15mm kit versions around here somewhere; I'll have to dig them out.

Thank you very much, Kenny!  For gaming WWII using the Mein Panzer rules, North Africa is probably my second favorite Theater following the Russian Front.

I enjoy it for gaming, especially with newbies, in that there are no really dominant vehicles on either side until you get into the later part where the Sherman and the Pz IV F2 and G are queens of the battlefield.  Typically you don't have to worry about seeing and moving through trees either.  I ran a game back in 2018 and the Panzer IIIs on the German side seemed to match pretty well against the Crusader IIs on the British side.

Thank you very much, also, Healey!  Perhaps we will see your 15mm M-13/40s here soon.  Meanwhile, I am working to finish 6 more GHQ Panther Gs to add to the 6 Panther Gs and As that I already have.

Here are a few more pictures of my Panthers.  I now have 12 of them, so this is basically a reduced company.  I will add a few more later.

Looks great, Peter. I'm not familiar with that version of a Bergepanther. I'm used to the one with the winches, short cranes/derricks, and spades at the back. Looks sharp, useful for recovering all of those knocked out Panther Ds.

Thanks very much, Healey!  The Bergepanther D was an early version with the open roof just covered by a large wooden hatch.  The later A version of the Bergepanther usually had the wooden box superstructure' a crane, and a large spade in the rear.

Here are my 7 GHQ Panther Ds.  I finished these today and just need to pop them off the nails and they will be ready for deployment to get blooded or bloodied in a Mein Panzer game.

Thank you very much, Healey!  This was one of those projects that seemed to go on and on.  I started these several years ago and have been picking away at these off and on for the last couple years.  Things began in earnest about 3 weeks ago to get them done and move on.

Here is another solo Mein Panzer game.  This one is one I have done before and set in North Africa in 1942 sometime after the Fall of Tobruk.  I have titled this scenario - Cruisin' for a Bruisin' and features British Crusader IIs vs. German Panzer IIIs.

Both sides are somewhat reduced by the fighting of the previous weeks.  During the British retreat toward El Alamein, it is discovered that there is a key crossroads that needs to be held by the British but in the confusion in the aftermath of Tobruk it has not been garrisoned.  Sending elements of the 2nd Regiment of the 10th Hussars to secure the crossroads to cover the retreat, they run into elements of the 1/8th Panzer Regiment of 15th Panzer Division.

This battle did not really happen but could have.  It is a simple scenario designed to get new players into the action of Mein Panzer quickly in a fun game between tanks that are relatively evenly matched.

I was going to run this game at Southwest Con on October 7th but with the Con being cancelled, I will be doing this at Imperial Outpost on Saturday, October 21st.  The scenario is designed for 4 players but can be played with 6 or even 8 and as few as 2.

Here are a few pictures of the layout and forces for both sides.

Here are some Tiger Is in progress.  I have done some of the major detail work such as tool heads and tow cables.  Still a bit more to do.

Painting tires on road-wheels is "above-and-beyond" in 1/285, Peter...just a terrific job. Can't wait to see these puppies in final form.
