He may be referring to division/half flotilla destroyers in FAI, the WWI version of GQ3.3. However, let me point out a way to quickly plot and resolve torpedoes in GQ3.3. It requires a bit of preparation. I use the Snapshot function in Acrobat (go to edit file and select more) to copy the ship logs I intend to use to a MSW doc. Beneath each ship's log that has torpedoes I write a torpedo marker number. I then write a shorthand description of each torpedo mount. I use the description to indicate which mount I'm plotting for. So, PSFT is Port Side Fore Torpedo mount as an example. Next to each mount designator I write GT (game turn plotted), tab and then Gyro (R or G 1 through 5 for the angle plotted)), tab and then Depth (standard or deep). You then put a piece of post-it with an arrow head and the appropriate torpedo marker number (for the ship you are plotting for) on the spot on the table where the torpedoes are fired from. You can plot torpedoes almost as fast as you can resolve gunnery doing it this way. I hope this helps.
