Thanks very much, Healey! I admit that I do more than is really necessary for a game but somehow my OCD kicks in when I start working on these intricate little beasts from GHQ. Painted details on two more Tigers today.

I think we're cut from the same cloth, Peter, although my skills lag yours by a considerable distance. Now, when you start painting kill-rings on the barrels, I'll worry about you

Thanks very much, Healey! I have never painted Kill Rings on my models BUT I have used decals from I-94 which are really very good. I do need to add some crewmen for these though.
Marder III with 2 kill rings.
Marder II with 9 kill rings. I just cut off the number of kill rings I need from the strip on the decal sheet very carefully.

Is there a twelve step program this kind of obsessive modeling behavior?
Actually it's pretty cool what you've done there Pete.

Here are some pictures of my winter terrain. On Thanksgiving I set up part of my set on my table. This layout is about 5 feet long by 3 feet wide. I have enough pieces to do a 4' x 8' layout with some left over but need some more individual pieces to add.

Thank you very much, Healey! My good friend Begemot has suggested that I need to set this up and do a Battle of the Bulge scenario. One of these days soon I will do just that.

Yeah, but you gotta do it between mid-December and mid-January, hopefully with a howling blizzard taking place outside (I know, that would be highly unusual for Arizona, Peter). Between turns, go outside and jump into a snow-drift to keep things in perspective!Thank you very much, Healey! Every year we play a Bulge board game in December...this year it's MMP's Ardennes from 1993. My understanding is this game is terrible and has been subsequently reworked/reissued. I guess we'll see what all of the angst was about. Starting this Saturday, December 16th, seventy-nine years to the day.

Hi Healey!
Ardennes by The Gamers has been released as Ardennes II. I don't have any information on the new game as opposed to the old one. I never did get around to playing the original Ardennes but I do need to have a go at Ardennes '44 from GMT one of these days. I have heard good things about that one.

Yup, I'd heard they issued a revised/updated version of Ardennes...hopefully they corrected the problems with the supply rules. That said, I don't think I'll be investing in the new one, as I have too many never-played games piled up around here. That and, if I'm honest, Ardennes operational games are pretty hopeless of German success if measured against Hitler's stated objectives (not the "do better than they did historically" VP assignments found in so many of the games on the topic).
Ardennes '44 is a very good game, perhaps the best in that series (Ardennes '44, Normandy '44, Sicily '43, etc.); well worth a look.

Hi Healey
I have all of the games in the Simonitch series. I have played Ukraine '43 which I enjoyed very much. Now I need to sit down and play the others. I just got North Africa '41 not too long ago.

I’d be interested to hear your take on Normandy ‘44 when you get to it. There was one seemingly arbitrary rule in there that tipped it to the Allies consistently in our plays.Hi Healey
